Shea Butter East African Nilotica Virgin - PLUS KOKUM

Our Shea Nilotica Plus Kokum blend pairs the healing qualities of East African Shea with the skin-sealing properties of Kokum Butter. Kokum contains up to 80% of stearic-oleic-stearic (SOS) triglycerides. This is a unique type of oil, solid at room temperature, with high oxidative stability, and rich in antioxidants. Its emollient properties are known for their ability to help soften skin and restore elasticity, making it a perfect match with East African Shea Butter.

Note:  Natural butters and oils may melt during shipping or processing when exposed to high temperatures, and upon cooling they can sometimes re-solidify with a grainy texture or develop a thin white layer known as fat bloom (a harmless separation of fats such as stearic acid). This is a normal occurrence and does not affect the quality of your product. To restore a smooth consistency, simply warm the butter until fully liquefied, stir well, and then flash freeze in the original container or smaller jars. This process will return the butter to its creamy texture. East African Shea Butter is a rare type of Shea Butter and accounts for 1% of all shea butter produced worldwide. One of the qualities of this type of shea butter is its high olien content, which makes it much softer. Nilotica shea butter is considered the “luxury” Shea butter product compared to western Shea butter. It is richer, creamier, & much more difficult to obtain. Many also say that East African Shea Butter contains a higher portion of Shea Butter's healing qualities due to its higher content of Vitamin E and other nutrients.
